This is not a list of every fund in the region. It is a list of the ones that can realistically write a cheque to an early-stage company in Slovakia or Czechia, with the details you need to decide whether an approach is worth making.

Verified 2026-09-07. Funds change stage, cheque size and whether they are deploying at all. Treat this as a starting point rather than a guarantee — check each fund's last two or three announced deals, not its website copy. If something here is out of date or someone is missing, tell me and I will fix it.

How to read this list

Stage and cheque size are listed first because those two filters are where most approaches die. A fund writing €2M cheques will pass on your €300k round regardless of how good the product is — not because they dislike you, but because the deal costs them more in process than it can return.

The second thing to read carefully is geographic restriction. Some funds have limits written into their LP agreements about where they can invest. Vision Ventures, for example, requires a Slovak entity registered less than five years ago. That is not a preference, it is a condition.

Slovak funds

Early stage

FundStageChequeNotes
Zaka VC Pre-seed, seed ~€250k Health & biotech, industrial tech. Offices in Bratislava, Prague, London and Silicon Valley.
Vision Ventures Pre-seed, seed €100–800k, max €1.6M Requires a Slovak entity registered under five years. Sector agnostic.
Venture to Future Fund Late seed – Series B From €400k, sweet spot €1.5–2M State-backed. Invests only alongside a private co-investor, 50:50 — without one it cannot help you.
Limerock Late seed, Series A not stated Industrial tech and B2B. Also runs a transaction advisory practice.
Crowdberry Mostly growth deal by deal Not a classic VC — a licensed equity crowdfunding platform with a co-investment fund. Deals pass an investment committee, then the platform's investors.
Slovak Investment Holding Various e.g. convertible loans €300k–€1.4M State fund of funds. Since 2024 also makes direct convertible loans to innovative companies. Also stands behind VFF.

One more Slovak fund, Neulogy Ventures, appears in most regional listings as a pre-seed/seed investor, but its website was not reachable at the last check. Confirm directly that the fund is still deploying before you spend time on it.

Growth and PE (out of scope for early stage)

Sandberg Capital, Genesis Capital, Espira Investments, Jet Investment and other SLOVCA members are active in Slovakia, but their entries start at about €1M and are usually growth capital or buyouts. For pre-seed and seed they are out of range — listed here so you do not waste an approach on them.

Czech funds

For a Slovak startup the Czech market is effectively domestic: same language space, no friction in diligence, and most Czech funds will invest across the border. In practice there are more active early-stage funds there than at home.

Regional CEE funds

These funds have a Central and Eastern European mandate and a Slovak startup can approach them. An honest caveat: I could not verify a Slovak portfolio company at any of them. That does not mean they will not invest — it means I would put them in the second wave rather than the first.

  • LAUNCHub Ventures — seed, initial ticket up to €3M
  • Underline Ventures — pre-seed to late seed, ~$500k average
  • Day One Capital — pre-seed/seed, €300k–2M, AI, robotics, cybersecurity
  • OTB Ventures — deep tech, space, cyber
  • Bek Ventures (formerly Earlybird Digital East) and Speedinvest — both have announced new CEE-focused vehicles

Accelerators and incubators

  • STU InQb — eight-month START programme in Bratislava. Requires at least one team member affiliated with STU.
  • Comenius University Science Park incubator — biomedicine, biotech, bioinformatics.
  • CIVITTA Challenger — a family of non-equity accelerators across CEE. Cohort timing changes; check the current call.
  • EIT Community Hub Slovakia — the entry point into EIT programmes (Manufacturing, Health, Food, Digital, Urban Mobility and others).
  • Startup Wise Guys — one of the best-known CEE accelerators, vertical programmes with deadlines.
  • Techstars and Rockstart — no Slovak programme; you apply to a batch elsewhere. What those applications are actually judged on is in how to get into an accelerator.

The Uplift accelerator, which still appears in older Slovak listings, has moved its focus to the Western Balkans and its original domain no longer resolves.

Angels and syndicates

Here I have to be straight with you: I could not find an active, publicly listed Slovak angel network or syndicate with a website and an open process. Slovak angels exist and invest, but they organise informally — through people, accelerators and events, not through a platform you can send a deck to.

Practically, that means angel capital in Slovakia is found through relationships rather than lists. Czechia is somewhat more formalised, with the Czech Business Angel Association.

Turning this into a list that works

This page is raw material, not a finished target list. The method for turning it into forty to sixty names sorted into three waves is in how to find investors for your startup. How many of them you actually need to contact is what the outreach calculator works out.

One last thing worth saying: before you email anyone on this list, work through the fundraising checklist. The funds in this region are small and you will meet them again. A first approach with an unprepared data room costs more here than it would in Berlin or London.

The checklist I've given to 500+ startups before fundraising.

5 questions every investor checks before they say yes. Most founders don't have an answer — and it costs them the round.
